Gender Affirming Care

Every young person deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported in who they are. My practice provides gender-affirming care for youth and teens under age 20, offering a welcoming space to explore identity, ask questions, and make informed choices about next steps in social and medical transition.

Together, we can talk through options for starting or continuing medical transition, and I help families access trusted resources for social and legal transitions within Washington State. This may include guidance on name and gender marker changes, support in communicating with schools, or connecting with affirming community networks.

Care is provided through an informed choice model, meaning decisions are made collaboratively—with open, honest conversations and respect for each person’s readiness and values. I work closely with youth and their parents or guardians to ensure that everyone feels included and confident throughout the process.

In Washington, gender-affirming care is legally protected, and minors have specific rights around consent to medical services. Families are supported in understanding what the law allows and how to navigate it safely and respectfully. My goal is to help each young person feel empowered and affirmed while ensuring that care is compassionate, ethical, and aligned with current best practices.
