Naturopathic medicine is an art and science of approaching the
patient in a holistic way. It seeks to treat the cause of
illness rather than treating the symptoms using a combination of
treatment modalities such as physical medicine, hydrotherapy,
nutrition, counseling, homeopathy, and botanical medicine. As
a Naturopathic Doctor, I believe that health is not merely the
absence of disease but that it is an optimal functioning of the
body. This optimal functioning can be achieved through proper
nutrition, sleep and good lifestyle habits. Sometimes when the
body is in a state of disease it needs assistance from a vitamin,
mineral or herb in order for it to get better. In most cases,
the consumption of a supplement is short-term and should not be a
lifelong need if the foundations of nutrition, sleep and lifestyle
are in order.
You can expect to spend about an hour in
the office at your first visit. I will get a full medical and family history
from you as well as listen to all of your health concerns. I
will probably also look at your eyes, ears, nose and throat, and
listen to your heart and lungs. From there, we can determine
whether further testing is needed for your specific health
conditions. We will develop a treatment plan together that you
can follow, making dietary suggestions, lifestyle suggestions, and
determining the need for supplementation. Once you are
established under my care, a follow up visit may be scheduled in 2-4
weeks. Many conditions require a long-term commitment to
healing with frequent follow-ups. I also have e-mail available for brief questions or
clarifications. For more information or to schedule an
appointment, please call 425-670-6751
